If you like DC Comics and fighting games, I’ve got some good news. Blue Beetle and Wonder Woman have just been added to Injustice 2‘s roster.
Now, you may remember Wonder Woman from Injustice: Gods Among Us. Yes, she was in that game, too. Except she has some tricks up her sleeve this time. In Injustice 2, you’re no longer limited to Wonder Woman’s character power level to use her Lasso of Truth, or her sword and shield.
On top of that, she can also combine her Lasso attacks with quick sword combos. Oh, and did I forget to mention that she can also throw her shield and use her Bracelets of Submission to deflect fireballs? No? Well, now you know.
Wonder Woman also brings a new character power that has her gaining blessings from the Greek Gods. For example, Hermes can enhance your mobility and give her an air dash ability.
In regards to Blue Beetle, his move set is based on the alien technology in his power suit. He’s an all around good character to play as, according to Tyler Lansdown from NetherRealm Studios.
Blue Beetle’s hands can form into shields, blades, and clubs for brutal and up close combos, and he can strike from afar by turning his hand into an energy cannon not unlike Cyborg’s that fires quick blasts on the ground or air. He can also use his wings to get up close and personal or to get out of the way of incoming attacks.
Blue Beetle’s unique character power lets him transform his arms into long, razor sharp blades that augment his range and effectiveness, but he can no longer fling fireballs. In the same power move, he can go through his entire arsenal of weapons before finishing them with a powerful series of energy blasts.
Look for Injustice 2 on store shelves and digital marketplaces in 2017 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Can’t wait that long? Well, there’s going to be a prequel comic before the game comes out in 2017.

My Take: Yes. 100% yes. Although I’m not enthused about Wonder Woman looking like she did in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and the upcoming Wonder Woman solo film, I do like that they’re bringing her back with meaningful changes.
In the first Injustice, it felt odd that the things that Wonder Woman was famous for was hidden behind her character power.
In regards to Blue Beetle, I’ve wanted him in this game since I finished Injustice and played with all of the DLC characters.
Other than that, if you want a dose of what the superheroine and superhero can do, I highly recommend you check out Wonder Woman: Rebirth and Blue Beetle‘s upcoming Rebirth in September. Hell, check out Rebirth in general. It’s a great comic line, and you should definitely be reading it, with San Diego Comic Con going on right now.
