Last week, several Xbox One owners reported seeing games such as Red Dead Redemption, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, and Left 4 Dead 2 in their games library as playable Xbox 360 backwards compatibilty titles on Xbox One.
Since then, Xbox spokesperson took to Reddit to resolve the matter with the fans. “Microsoft tests all Xbox 360 games with our emulator to ensure a quality experience across a breadth of titles. Due to an error, some of the games currently in test were accidentally made available. We have since removed access to those games, and apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We will have more information on upcoming releases soon.”
Oh, and just in case you’re curious, “You will not be banned.” for playing any of the games that mistakenly became available last week, regardless of whether you played the game(s) online or offline.
