PlayStation gets a new name

This week over on PlayStation Blog, President & CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America Shawn Layden announced the formation of a new company to handle everything PlayStation: Sony Interactive Entertainment, LLC.

Sony Interactive Entertainment will be headquarted in San Mateo, California, the same city as Pixelopus, who made Entwined in 2014. SIE will combine Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Network Entertainment.

The formation of SIE will place an emphasis on PS4 and PlayStation VR, games from SCE Worldwide Studios, and services like PlayStation Vue.
