Sam Barlow, the designer of Her Story, shared on Twitter yesterday that he was working on a follow up to the award-winning murder mystery game.

Despite having a 2 in its title, Her Story 2 will be a standalone game, with no relation to the original.

In an email sent to Polygon, Sam Barlow said, “”It’s I guess a spiritual successor,” “I.e. there is no story connection, but I hope it builds on what people liked about the first one!”

Meanwhile, on Twitter, the designer heavily suggested that Her Story 2 would share one thing from Her Story: the full motion video-style live action sequences. While the game is, according to Sam Barlow, still in early development, he told Polygon that he has “ambitious plans” for the new game.
