The Division‘s beta has been delayed. This beta was supposed to arrive this month exclusively on Xbox One, but now it’s been pushed to “early 2016”, when it will become available for PC and PS4.
While the beta has been pushed back, anyone who preorders the game on Xbox One will be given “priority access” to a closed alpha that is currently slated for December 9th – December 12th. This closed alpha will mark the first time the general public has been able to play anything other than the “Dark Zone” PvP areas.
“This means the moment you and other players sign into the game, you’ll be giving us valuable insight into how our infrastructure performs under pressure that we can’t replicate internally or at a tradeshow,” the developer explained in a blog post.
Those interested in the Xbox One closed alpha should be aware of something, though. You have to sign a non-disclosure agreement that prohibits screenshots of any kind, game clips, and descriptors outside of the forums hosted by Ubisoft themselves.
Everyone who preorders The Division on PS4, Xbox One, or PC will get access to a closed beta when it goes live early next year. Contents of said beta have not been disclosed as of this writing.
