Halo 5: Guardians is going to be a big game, no doubt. However, I couldn’t help but notice something that’s just been weirding me out with all the marketing behind the new entry in the Halo franchise: 343 Industries’ push for “The Fall of Reach”, a pivotal moment in the Halo franchise.

The animated adaption of The Fall of Reach is being offered as a bonus for pre-ordering Halo 5: Guardians‘ Digital Deluxe Edition for a whopping $90 USD, it’s been the subject of an entire game, and now there’s a board game called Halo: Fleet Battles – The Fall of Reach. Now, I’m not one for diving deep into pre-order bonuses and auxiliary board games, but I find it rather odd that 343 would give away what just might end up being a major story beat in Halo 5: Guardians.
